Default Weak Clutch Already????

Ohh man is my clutch dying ??

So as of three days ago when I go to push my clutch it feels loose! Its not an advanced set up. Pushing it midway I get this "whirring" noise. Then when I fully engage the clutch to the floor I'm barely getting the shift to first. Second and so on engage fine.

Do I have a loose pedal or......?? I've had shift linkage issue's since obtaining ownership, due to a faulty pin in the assembly but, never the weak clutch symptom.

HERE WE GO!

Sounds like your clutch is toast.

You checked your clutch fluid right? Try bleeding your slave cylinder and see if you get pedal pressure.

Where's the slave cyl? Didn't try that but will add it to inquiry checklist.

Thanks for quick response too!

It's the valve on your tranny in front of your radiator. It may be leaking , check your fluids and see if it's low.

Your scarring me (everyone must learn tho), you dont put tranny fluid in clutch resovoir. Use dot 3 brake fluid for both brake and clutch resovoir. Tranny fluid is only for your gears.

Yeah, definitely DO NOT put ATF in your clutch reservoir. If you mix petroleum fluid with brake fluid, it destroys all the rubber seals in the system, thus having to replace master cylinder, slave cylinder and possibly even the brake hose.

Hello again

For the record the car is alright-went ahead and got the stock stage one clutch put in.

Gears actually catch way better now. Still need more work on wiring and some stock internals.

thanks for all the input people!
