Default Best motor for EG6?

Ok guys I have an EG6 with a ZC 1.6 SOHC y want to upgrade to a better engine. I need to know whats the best honda engine that fits into this car. From what engine can I get more HP & torque.

PS: I'm not talking about whats the best factory engine, but the one that I can get more out of with mods.

That's such an open ended question it's not going to be possible to answer. What is 'more' hp? 200? 300?
If all you want is peak hp, then their still isn't a single answer. There are some SOHC guys boosted to well over 500whp. A fully built to wall B18 or H22 can get you over 700whp if you feel like dumping 30K into the motor.
B16's and B18's are popular swaps because their easy to do and there are tons of mods. An H22 is good for power. K series swaps are the hot thing right now too.
A lot depends on you budget, application and goals for the car.

Well i'm new actually a new pilot and wanted to get some ideas to what to do to the car, money is not an issue (don't get me wrong, i'm not rich, i'll just save up til I have enough for the parts ).

I don't really have plans yet, looking for you guys to put me in the right direction, looking to make the car go to its limits so I don't know if that would be with boost, bottle or all motor...

Some friends where talking about building me a Frankenstein, would this be better then the B15C??

Sorry if this was of any inconvenience Turbojdmhatch, saw the sticky after your post.

b18c?

the postives of a b20VTEC is that the added displacement creates a lot of torque...as long as you have the right tranny, an LS tranny would be good for a boosted set up as long as its a good set up, an ITR, GSR/w LSD would be good for all motor, GSR with or without LSD will still be good for this set up

LS/VTEC are great also as long as its done correctly, done incorrectly will make it unreliable and more of a PITA than anything....also since its an LS bottom end if you dont swap out the tranny also it wouldn tbe a good set up for all motor since of its long gear ratios compared to a Si or gsr or type-r

4 cylinder is a thing of the past. It's all about J-Series V6 swap now.

you dont consider having to weld in a new tranny side motor mount "major modification?
if you dont i would like to see what major modification to your engine bay would be
