i need some opinions on which one to build...
ok i just got a jdm b20b from a guy who bought it from pw:jdm...it has never been put in and he said it had about 32k miles. the head is off of it and he took the cams and distributor out a while back. i traded him a carbon hood and hatch even for the jdm b20b and a set of b series hasport mounts...so i wanna throw this thing in my eg.
but i have heard that for a b20/vtec build to use the b20z...and for boost setups to use the b20b. this is where im confused. i would LOVE to build a b20/vtec but i am kinda broke right now and it will cost quite a bit. and i would like to boost it but im afraid i will run into problems because of the cylinder walls and what not.
if you have any other information you would like to add...such as price to your b20/vtec or ls/vtec build or problems out of your boosted b20 setup...let me know. this is my first b series build and im wantin it to be worthwhile.

yes, b20b is usually good for boost reason being it has low compression stock. The b20z has a higher compression which is better of using it for a b20vtec setup. If you were to boost the b20b, it is highly recommended to at least change rod bolts to ARP ones.

you think b20/vtec turbo would be ok? i would like to have it pretty damn reliable if i can...and i know boost is a way to kill that. lol thats why i am considering b20/vtec and leave it at that....maybe later on turbo it. but idk. any other suggestions? lol and thanks man for the reply.
It can be reliable, It just has to be built right and ofcourse......the tune is the most important part.
