Default Intake Manifold

Just wondering about my options, i want to go aftermarket and am currently running a b16a. Another noob question: does this increase horsepower? such as one from skunk2 or hondata?

thanks!

it should increase hp/tq by a little bit. i don't know hard numbers but its not like anything extravagant. skunk2 pro-series are pretty dece though.

never had one but from what i'm told there over rated. take off your stock one;get it hot tanked(cleaned out) and call it a day 2-5 hp for $250-300 ain't worth it imo.

yup just take off all the sensors and throttle body etc... carb cleaner works great.this way you save $300,have a diy project and get to work on your car. post pics if you go with my idea,Matt.

yea you can do a pretty darn good job with just degreasers and some elbow grease. or you could paint it if you like. these are two d16 mpfi intakes i cleaned, primed, and painted. just kinda experimenting with diff colors. and i scrubbed like hell to clean that fuel rail off on the 2nd IM, but for the life of me it would not come off be sure to remove all sensors, vaccum lines, fuel rail, and tb. and then tape everything off.

i didnt feel like spending that kind of money on an intake either so i just bought a replica. sure the build quality isnt as top notch as i'm sure the skunk2 stuff is, but theres no way in my mind its worth $250-300 for such a small gain. i'd rather spend the money elsewhere. like a gsr or somethin

Time for me to chime in on an answer to the OP. If your running a B16A, the very best intake manifold that has been dyno proven against many other aftermarket brands was beat out buy the oem 2nd gen B16 manifold, the P30.

It can actually be improved one step further by sending it out to extrude hone if you are looking to max all out performance.
