Crazy Knock from the motor
On my way home my AP1 shutoff on a busy street after hearing some knocking from the motor. When I started it the knocking was really loud. I was able to get it to school which wasn't far, then got it towed to a shop. I'm pretty sure I need a new motor but is there anything you guys could recommend me to check? It knocks on start up with every rotation and when you release the clutch it dies (not even in gear).
so wait, the car will run, but knocking... if the clutch is in?
but if the clutch is out (in neutral) it dies?
well, i'd start with the typical things:
pull your valve cover, look for a cracked retainers.... or in your case, pieces of the retainer, and possibly the dropped/sunk valve.
drain/pull the oilpan. look for chunks or shards of metal.
piston slap is pretty rare, but does occur.
if you're exaggerating the noise, it may be your TCT. thats more of a tap than a knock though.

this sounds like it was cause by you or the previous owner. Never has a Honda motor just knocked and then shut off because of experienced driving. What are your driving habits etc?
all service was always done on time at the dealer, according to carfax. I check the oil every fill up. The cel was on due to my o2 sensors shorting out and I drove it like that for about a week. Had a new ecu and the new o2 sensors came the day after it started knocking. It's pretty loud and comes from the block. The car requires a little gas to start up and then while it's still in neutral, right after the start up I release the clutch and the revs drop from the 1k idle and the car dies. If I gas it, still in neutral, when the revs come back down it dies.

you are gonna need a stethoscope or something. Screw driver and your ear can work also. Check near the block. If its coming from there you can have a knocking the boots rod or a bearing about to be spun. Listen at the exhaust for a sputter sound at idle. If you hear a sputter you might have spun bearing. Either way it sounds like you had low oil at some point in the cars life.
