F22B2 front crank seal change
i need some kind of advice, i have a F22B2 turbo, and i want to change the crank seal (it dumps oil) but the other guy working on my car wants to swap the motor out for my spare F22A.
the car runs fine the way it is, both motors are non-vtec.
HOW HARD IS IT TO CHANGE THE FRONT CRANK SEAL?
plz post links and any info you can come up with, i need help...

You might want to look thru the FAQs for a timing belt change.
I believe it would be much less work to change the shaft seals and oil pump seal, as opposed to change out an engine for an oil leak.

x2, not to mention the two motors have different exhaust port spacing which would require another turbo manifold.
just replace the seal. See my write-up for how to get the timing belt and all that off and scroll through the later pages in the thread on how to replace the seal, don't recall which page it's on but I do know I posted it.

about a million times easier than swapping motor. I'm not sure if the oil pump needs to come off to replace that seal, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but even that isn't too bad.

well we decided to just change the motor due to the condition of the motor. the replacement motor is in excellent condition and im not sure how abused the current f22b2 is. the f22a1 im replacing it with just means i have to get a new turbo manifold, but it should run better.
i was just gonna go the cheap way and change the crank seal but its leaking from the oil dipstick assembly and the power steering pump is the wrong one for the car so its sideways. the belts are eaten up as well..
so its gonna take more money to get the b2 running clean than its worth. ol crapper
