Default Help on purchasing material for spray can painting

This will be my first time doing any kind of painting on my car. Its something really simple, but I'm not sure what materials I need to purchase. I want to paint the bottom portion of my rear bumper because its all faded.

My plan is to spray can it flat black, but I'm unsure on what else I need. What grit of sandpaper do i use and do I need to clear coat the flat black or not. I don't want it to look shiny like the rest of the rear bumper. any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Lol no, you do not clear coat flat black.
My advice to you is that if you want a flat black to have it professionally done, otherwise it will look like complete ****.

They sell bumper paint like that out of a can. It is used for that specific purpose.
It comes out looking like satin. Should be able to find it at most auto parts store.

incorrect

you do clear coat it even if its flat black... clear coat comes in a satin finish... clear coat isnt just to make paint shiney

I got the Dupli bumper coating from Kragen and it looks like my black trim is brand new. Did it about 1.6 years ago and looks new still. No clear just one coat also.
