a load bearing dyno is always best.

you can only tune so much on the street, a dyno will be a must to look at ignition and other things. if you're going to tune on the streets a wideband and pryometer are mandatory

yes using a pyrometer to record and keep track og EGT's. a wideband tells you what your fuel is behaving like and a pryometer tells you what your ignition is behaving like. thats the lymans way to explain it.

i dont know of any ECU that can datalog EGT's but that doesnt mean one could exist.

the best position for a pyrometer is imediately after the exhaust chamber or within 4inches on the exhaust runner heres a pic.

both street and dyno tuning are needed for a TRUE complete tune IMO.

i would recommend you NOT USE the afc at all SALE IT and buy the hondata S100 with boost option for $190-$250 its the best option for the price and its cheaper than a afc

who said anything about an afc? or do you mean A/F?

you can use an unused input to log EGTs with the right hardware and program. (eCtune comes to mind)

street tune to get A/Fs right part throttle, dyno for WOT pulls.

One thing about tuning, you're never really "done" There always seems like there's something that needs tweeked.

IMO, for a good tune, a quick street tune, then dyno tune the WOT areas, then back to the street for a complete tune along with ECT/IAT and other trims, then back to the dyno for a quick check to make sure you didn't screw things up.

sorry meant to quote VTECROAR96typeR when I posted that. there was no mention of afc in his earlier posts. (I started typing that before you posted, got distracted and finished 10 minutes later)

afc's are dangerous.

I like getting everything i can done on the street. fuel, ignition, Fuel compensation, ignition compensation. Put it on the dyno then go back on the street and fix the WOT fueling because its likely going to be different unless you are on a mustang, dynodynamics or dynapack dyno. I feel that a true tune is not "quick" and people who say they can fully tune an engine in a couple hours are full of ****.

whole heartedly agree.
Also to tune the IAT tables, you need to reinstall the wideband and tune the car at least three or four times through out the year.

the IAT also needs to be relocated to a more agreeable position, unlike on the intake manifold.

ever use an AIR intake manifold or tune with one.

the carbon fiber one? nah....my customers tend to be cheap, which is why i dont tune many cars because i dont like tuning cheap setups where corners are cut.
