Default dyno-saur

i was deciding which shop i wanted to get my car tuned at..and was wondering what the difference between street tuned and dyno tuned..the street tune would cost me 150 for full (4-5 hour) tune..and the dyno tuned would be 150/hr..street tuned seems more reasonable to me but is it better?

realistically you need both. as i understand dyno tuning is for WOT tuning, and street tuning is for everything in between. if it was me i would probably go for the street tune. it depends on the tuner also. talk to both tuners and see which one is better. do a search and then post in the all-motor or forced induction forums for more info.

Dyno-tuning is tuning white on a dyno, WOT/full load. Street tuning is when someone drives around with a data-logger, and tunes based on that.

what you should do is have your part throttle maps street tuned. that way you tune in real world driving conditions, and you'll get nice driveablity and gas mileage. all the full throttle tuning should be done on the dyno.

Give Dave Lee a call if you want a street tune. He's up in Bellingham, but well worth the drive. I had my car street tuned by him and exceeded my expectations in terms of power output. It took 4 hours for my tune, but he will stick with your tune until you are satisfied. He charges $100 for a street tune and can also do dyno tuning. I am planning on having him retune my car with more boost when the weather allows. PM me if you want his number.
