Help 38mm Tial wastegate flange....mounted upside down ?????? is this okay
I had my turbo manifold modified for a 38mm tial by welding a Tial flange to a section of shedule 40 then that to the manifold
for anyone that knows what im talking about the tial flanges one side is different...one side has a small cut taken from it....well I left that side facing up to meet the wastegate
Did I mess up ?? will everything be okay ???
I didnt realize at the time that that groove cut out on one side of the flange could be for inserting tubing before its welded so you get a good weld
thanks for the help

you see in that picture that groove cut out of the inside. thats what im talking about
I believe when the manifold was made this groove should be in contact with the tubing on the manifold
and not face up (how mine is) and contacting the wastegate
anyone think I will have a leak issue ???

Ive found a few companys online that sell tial flanges that are like this one
http://turboaddictionparts.com...id=70
they appear to have a smaller sealing surface than my "upside down" flange
any help ?

that small lip area is just where you insert the tube so you can weld easier. It should not cause a problem.
