1996 honda prelude h23 probs.. no spark, i think the distributor wires touched? need help!!
Hey I just bought this car off a friend and I put a new distributor on it and it was running good. I didnt tape up the wires and decided to run around the driveway a few times... Next thing you know it dies out and doesnt start.. I get no spark.. also the rotor on the distributor isnt spinning, i checked and it also isnt spinning inside the head of the motor.. What are some of the things I should have checked or replace? I need to get this car going asap and any help would be appreciated... There are 8 wires coming out of the distributor and they were all bare. Thanks, daylen

So you're saying that the camshaft itself doesn't spin when you crank
the engine? If that's the case it sounds like you have a timing belt broke.

I try to spin it with my hands and I cant spin it.. It wont spin when I crank it over either. You really think its the timing belt? Anything else to check?
The timing belt is still on the pulley not ripped either... where should I start first? has anyone else done this?
