Default surging problem in a turbo'd hatch

Ok guys im new to the site and need some help. I bought a 92 civic hatch alittle over a month ago. Its the 1.5 SOHC non- Vtec. It came with everything to turbo it. Put the turbo kit on it and it began to smoke so figured it was with the turbo after looking at it. So I with having little money left bought another turbo. Got the new one on it still smokes but not as bad as before. Now when im driving down the road in it it surges and wants to fall on its face after i give it alittle gas then it will take off. I did a tune up on it and replaced the fuel filter and its still acting up. Everything engine wise is stock so far except the turbo. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Sounds like it badly needs a proper tune.

How about you tune the car????? Maybe you will have the right air to fuel in the engine and not potentially blow the engine or melt the pistons.

You better be able to dial in a VAFC realll good or you can kiss that motor goodbye.

Doesn't matter -- you can still mess **** up running that low of boost. Get it done. Run 10W-30 oil. synthetic is preferable.

my turbo used to surge but that was because the bov never [freak]ing opened up. try buying a new bov like a HKS. its alot of money i no but i never got surge ever again.

but if your taking about bogging in low rpm. i have the same problem. its probably your fuel pressure. do you have an aftermarket fuel pump on a untuned car? if so thats your problem. get a fuel regulator and put it to 45.

well it surged alittle before the turbo but now its worse just like it didnt smoke before the turbo. I dont have an aftermarket fuel pump yet its all stock except for the turbo kit. As for a VAFC I was actually planning on getting a hondata s300 for it. If it blows up like you guys say its going to well then it gives me more of a reason to swap a DOHC in it.
