I had a similar problem with my first civic. I had a 99 EK hatch but this occurred when I only had one O 2 censor. It has also occasionally occurs on my current EG hatch but I think it might be because the throttle sticks a little bit...so when I push on the gas, its lags or bogs a little bit but then kicks in really fast like you just mashed the gas, almost like the trottle snaps. Try messin with your throttle. Let me know how it works out

Pop the hood and check for a turbo. Maybe someone snuck one in there before you bought it.

Nothin there? Didn't think so. GET A TUNE UP.

You provide too little info to make any assumptions over the internet. A tune up is the best thing I would recommend for 'bogging'..

No car should feel like that, unless you have a massive turbo. Even then, the car shouldn't bog.

You guys need a tune up.

i dont know if its bogging per se... but if i floor it, it will slowly creep up to around 4kish and then finally it will open up and go.

Your car runs off two modes as far as fuel correction is concerned. Open Loop and Closed Loop.

Under closed loop, the car's fuel maps are constantly being corrected by the o2 sensor. That is why when you look at an A/f Guage you'll notice the it pegging lean then rich then lean.. etc.

Under Open Loop, the car stops correcting it's fuel maps based on the o2 sensor, and runs on its own stock fuel map. (So when you floor it, you'll notice the air/fuel guage peg and hold at a certain spot on the guage.)

before you go out and buy a new one. clean yours off with some brake parts cleaner. If the o2 sensor is covered in a layer of soot, its not going to read correctly.

it would happen if a bigger catback has been installed, if timing is off most likely retarded, if fuel filter is clogged, etc.

dirty injectors.. there other things

60mm is 2 1/4... stock is 1.75".... that's your problem right there... you're missing low power but once you hit the mids, the larger exhaust gives you more power...

2" is pushing it on stock motor... 1.5 to 1.75" is pretty good on a 1.5L... on 1.6L 1.75 to 2" stock... anything above you'll be losing low end and gain in high end..... put a 1 to 1.5" on there and you'll have decent low end but no high end..
