transmission fluid???? help

Default transmission fluid???? help

when i had my swap done a few months ago, the mechanic told me to bring him motor oil for the tranny fluid. it sounded wierd but i looked around and i found that to be ok. i just started havin tranny problems and someone told me that u only supposed to do that with 5 speed and i have auto. is my tranny messed up because of that??

your mechanic has **** for brains if he put engine oil for an auto tranny

honda ATF is what you need to use

if there is engine oil in your tranny you are gonna need a rebuild

Actually there is Honda MTF that you should be using for a 5 speed as well.

Makes sure you give him the bill for your tranny rebuild.

Flush the oil out ASAP and replace with Honda ATF.

its slipping now in high 2nd gear. if i flush it out, do u think it will be fine or do i definately need rebuild at this point

yes he needs honda atf after a rebuild

You need a rebuild. Once you start slipping, it is only going to get worse. The mechanic you used ain't too smart.

Cheapest rebuild is $1000. Make sure he pays, not you. Or make that shop rebuild it if they can.
