Tranny Help
Well Im kinda new to building engines and whatnot

and I was wondering what I use in the tranny. This is the first motor I have built (ls/vtec) and I was kinda confused on the tranny. Someone use GM synchromesh or something and some kid said 5w30 oil... wtf. Im all confused. Help me

As long as you're not talking about old-old transmissions that need hypoid gear oil...
Up until '95 or so Honda called for 10w-30 engine oil in their manual transmissions. Then they started 'making' their MTF transmission fluid; & they said to use that in the older ones that called for engine oil, too.
Honda never said so, but lots of people here have discovered that GM Synchromesh fluid works really great. (I haven't used it.)

I've heard about people using the GM Synchromesh fluid too but I've always stuck with Honda MTF. I think it was up until 92 when they were calling for 10w-30...I could be mistaken though. Just go with MTF.
