Default Brigth headlight setting works, normal headlight setting doesn't

Having an issue with one of my headlights. The normal headlight setting doesn't work but if I flick on the brights it does work. I have swapped the left and right bulbs and the problem isn't following the bulb. It's only on the driver side. Looking at the fuses, it looks like there is a separate fuse for left and right but not for normal/bright. I swapped the left and right 20A fuses for left and right and nothing changed.

I'm guessing that this is some sort of electrical problem. Any thoughts on where to look next? I'm trying to avoid having to pay someone to look at it if possible.

Sorry, should have mentioned: 2000 model year.

first thing you should do is check the connecter with a multimeter. if it has no current just follow the wire back to the fuse box checking if its broken anywhere than with the multimeter check in the fuse box if its sending out current.

Most likely one of the wires broke somewhere from heat or something or the came out of the connecter.

From what I saw, there are two wires going to the connector. If the same bulb lights up when the brights are on, I'm pretty sure the wiring to the bulb is sound. It just doesn't light up when the normal lights are on. If there's a separate fuse or circuit for brights vs. normal, that's where I suspect the issue is. I haven't found any info on that - only the 2 fuses for left vs. right in the fusebox under the hood.

+1 was going to say the same thing. I'll have to look at my ETM to try and tell you where to look.
