clunking noise??? Please help

Default clunking noise??? Please help

Hi i have a 00 si civic and when i press on the brakes to almost at a complete stop i hear a awful clunking noise coming from the front pasengerside what do you guys think it could be rotors,caliper,pads??? While driving highways speeds i hear a clicking noise.. i thought it may have been my axel swapped that out but still makes that sound please help thanks

no i can hear a roaring souns sometimes driving about 60.. but it only clunks when im hit the brakes when slowing down for a stop light going mybe 5mph and it starts to clunk

That roaring sound is most likely tires being cupped. Without hearing it, I don't know.
Your clunk noise, is it more like a quick click click. That would be the brake pads shifting, and it's normal. If you want to temporarily get rid of that, apply some anti vibration paiste to the brake pad backing where the backing touches the caliper.

no its not a clicking noise more of clunking it dosent sound normal its pretty loud.. and it only dose it when i hit the brakes soon as im about to stop.. when i let of the brakes the sound goes away.. has to be something in the brakes just dont no what to look for

my buddy had a noise like that and we didnt know til we took the wheel off and noticed a screw fell out from his brake caliper. have you taken the wheel off and looked at it?

when driving to work today i noticed it was more of a clinking noise when driving like Honda-pilot mentioned but when stoping made a loud clunking sound

Do some visual checks. Check your motor mounts to see if they are torn, and pull the wheel and check all the suspention and brake components. Wiggle the components and see if they have excessive play. Be careful, don't jerk your car off the jack stands. Make sure all the bolts are tight in the area.

ok just got home and took the wheel off and inspected didnt see nothing out the ordinary all the bolts were tight the rotor did look pretty wore kinda uneven.. so i just orded a full set of brembo rotors

Although it might be exciting to have some new rotors comming, I doubt that's the problem. Spend some time under there inspecting. Check all the bushing ect. Check the exaust to make sure it's not banging around under there. Inspect any recent work that might have been done.
