Default big 97 SH problem

OK So i bought basically this lemon of a prelude. It has basic performance upgrades (intake,Header, cam and exhaust) turned out the head needed rebuilding a week after my initial purchase due to 2 burnt valves. they put in a new timing belt and water pump @ the machine shop and fixed everything. about a week later i get this problem that whenever the car heats up it will act as if theres a rev limiter at 3200 rpms and looses all power afterthat (it just bounces) its definatly not the egr had that replaced to.

if the cars overheating, check the radiator for coolant. but since u said the heads been fixed with.. id check the head gasket.

Heats up, as in it reaches operating temperature, or overheating?

Is the check engine light on?

What bounces? The idle?

Is the ignition system stock? How about fuel? Is it a chipped ECU or is there any kind of piggyback controller (if it's a chipped ECU your ATTS light should be on)? Do you mean when you hit 3200 the needle just bounces back and forth around 3200 like a rev limiter?

yes, it just bouces around and i believe the ignition is stock it does have some sort of FEALD SAFC controller mounted on the left side of the steering wheel. it only seems to have this problem after it runs for a while IDK if it has a piggy back or reflashed ECU. im probably going to take it to our family mechanic who knows about modded hondas but i need to know what kind of questions to ask,

thank you all -joe

Does the check engine light turn on when you turn the key to position 1? It just sounds like you are in limp mode.

thats the risk when you buy modded cars.

when you turn your ignition and all lights turn on in your dash, does your atts light come on for a few seconds? cause if it doesnt then replace that bulb and see if it stays it after that. If it does stay on check that atts code.

piggybacks are ok for SH, and you cant chip stock prelude ecu's dude.
