Need help, overheating!
Around town, my teg runs great. But when I get out on the interstate and hit about 75 or 80, it starts to heat up badly.
It's got a new sensor, new radiator, new water pump and new thermostat (OEM). It's still overheating.
My buddies are reluctant to call it a head gasket problem because it's not closely tied to how much my engine is working.
For example, I hit 80 and temperature rises up into the 3/4 area on my thermostat. So, still cruising at 80, I put the clutch in. Now I'm doing 80, RPM is idle and it heats up even more. What gives?
Mechanic thinks there may be a problem with airflow, but I can't see any. Has anyone else had this problem?
It's a 97 GS. I'm about ready to total the car because I've dropped so much cash trying to solve the problem and nothing works. Only thing I can think of would be head gasket, and for the price of repairing, I may as well just put a down payment on something new.

So how much were u planning on putting down on a new car? Changing the head gasket out isn't that expensive unless you're only planning on putting about 300-500 down on a new car. Get ur **** running right and it'll run forever.
