Innovative Mounts don't work???
Dear Honda Tech;
i have a 96 auto civic ex.
i'm putting in a 01 5spd gsr motor inside...
yea yea... hella work, hella money, hella stupid.
i'm in too deep, and i can't back out now... T.T
anyways. i took my car to the shop last week, and i bought a 96-00 civic billet INNOVATIVE mount kit for a b or d series motor with hydyo tranny mount...
but the guy at the shop is tellin me i got the wrong mount?
i confirmed with several people that this is INDEED the correct mount... is it?
is it because my car is an auto? i thought the only mount that's significantly different is the rear tranny mount... and i got a integra one...
any light on this would help. because i paid 300 something for the mounts, and the guy at the shop is tellin me it doesn't work and he has oem ones for 200 that he'll sell...
thanx again.

it clearly states the swap the gsr is a 5 speed.
i think you have the problem narrowed down if it doesnt fit the only thing i can see is that your going auto to 5 speed, i think theres a specific mount for that.. but then again i believe its jsut the three bolt tranny mount.
where exactly is the problem which mount doesnt line up.
seems to me like you have the right stuff.

thanks for pointing that out, Dylan.
the trans upper frame rail pig ears are the same for Ek autos and manuals...meaning, the 5sp mount will work no problem.
To put a B series into an EK, you need the 99-00 Civic Si rear T bracket. The Integra rear T bracket will not fit.

this is what he says in email:
"The Mounts are not the right one for your car, the label on the innovative box stated for the 96-00 civic with B-series engine and transmission but is NOT.
Yes there are two shift-linkage, we don't needed the civic one.
It's not hard install the power steering, but it's labor intense for installing the A/C and also recharging it.
You should come to the shop and pick-up the engine mounts and return it. I'll show you why the mount's are not for your car."
im not sure why he's saying that. his name is tommy from 8 velocity in lynnwood area.
he's charging me 1000 for install... seems like too much i can't complain i need the work done.
im just confused because i dropped alot of money on the mounts and he' sayin it's not the right one...

Only other problem I can see is if they sent you the wrong mounts.

Very likey they sent u the wrong ones man I just finally got done having major issues with innovative.
First off they sent me the wrong mounts. They sent the 2 bolt set up when the gsr is a 3 bolt set up.make sure you check your mount on drivers side to confirm if its 2 or 3 bolt. Only 3 will work for gsr and that could be your problem right there.
