Default ebay jdm knock off fog lights not turning on

I put these foglights in a while ago and they worked perfectly fine. About 3 weeks ago they stopped working. I havent had time to look at them until today. When i unplugged the relay i noticed there was soap residue inside where the connectors meet the sockets also the fuse socket had it also. When i push the fog light button inside the car and the light illmunates saying that their on. Well when i press the button the 4 prong relay is clicking i checked the fuse and that is fine. That fuse is next to the the relay on the same harness. I have that brown plug that goes into the fuse box on the first open connector all the way to the left.. What fuse protects this connector? And if my relay clicks when I push the connector does that mean its bad or just trying to fire up?

i've got the exact same problem right now. one day they just stopped working! from what i hear its the bulb itself b/c i did everything that you did and i still couldn't figure it out. all my fuses are good and relay is good, but a friend of mine said to try change the bulb. its an H3 bulb.

yeah happened to me twice, both times it was the bulbs... since u got the cheap knockoffs you probably have a couple extra bucks laying around to goto the junkyard and ****** up some lexus is300 fogs... they're retrofit into the EG housing not sure if they fit ek's tho, but are 10x brighter and have worked for me over 2 years now and still bright as ****...

Ebay has some iffy deals. You can find some awesome things on their for cheap! But you have to remember that you get what you pay for. Even I went out and bought fogs from some JDM store. They were grounding out inside the housing and completely melted 2 wire harnesses. I haven't bought new fogs since.

same exact **** has happened to me. my sister thought she was buying me some real "jdm foglights" for cheap at a shop i told her about out here in vegas. being the price was only 105 she bought them.

i got my hands on them and it had jdm style on the box all over it. but hey she still bought me something and it was cool. threw them on my ej2 and a couple of weeks later i burned through my passenger fog harness all the way to right before the relay. oh and the fuse after the relay before the battery was completely melted in the fuse holder but had never popped.. i was just glad none of the other harness got burned in the process.

so do you think that i have the same problem with a wire grounding itself out inside the housing?? i was just going to rewire the fogs and try different grounding locations, because i wasn't sure what had happened..

Ebay is cheap. I installed my gfs fogs only to have the relay melt 4 hours later. The button will still light up because its powered by the fusebox, come on now.

IS 300 fogs sound good. I'm going to get a pair with a new OEM relay and put them in for her. Does anyone have a Honda part number for the relay I need?

Bought my eBay fogs a couple years ago now. Not a single problem and they are on whenever I drive (16,000km a year). With stuff like this, it seems like a big gamble.

How are these fogs? I've been trying to find someone on HT running these on an EG so they could say how they liked them. How do they fit? Are you happy with them minus this problem you have now? Do you have any pics? Thanks.

my problem was the actual bulbs one got water in it. So both bulbs blew. It rained the other day and its filled half way up with water in it now i have to take the fuse out cause the lights wont turn off with the button pushed in or out.
