the mileage will hurt a little but the power makes up for it right..lose some to gain something else that's how it goes hahaha

well since you had to call me a "freak" tard..

the op is asking about gas mileage on an h2b... he/she is concerned about gas mileage, probably because gas is so damn expensive now. (even though its getting a little bit cheaper )

maybe it's out of line i am going to assume money is a slight factor of this build. obviously he/she does not want to spend much at the pump. so i am willing to bet this will be a NA h2b.

if i was going to go thru all the hassle of doing an h2b i would sure as hell not put an LS trans on it. i would probably want to take advantage of that power with a nice short gear box like a b16 trans

i maaaaaaaaaay be wrong but i am sure a 2.2 liter engine on a short geared box like a b16's would get a little bit different gas mileage then an h22 trans. i am not saying it will be drastic, i get 32ish on my b16 trans but with a b16 engine, im sure i would get so much more MPG on an ls trans. so unless the engine runs super clean i don't think he will get 28/34... maybe 26-29ish.

think of it like this if your redline is hitting a lower mph (because of the gearing) then your engine will be spinning faster more often... which burns more gas , unless you shift real low all the time of course. but really now who does that?

H22 Gear Ratio -
M2A4 -
3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.034 - 0.787 - 4.266

95-97 Del Sol VTEC / 99-01 Civic Si
USDM Hydro Y21/S21
3.230 2.105 1.458 1.107 0.848 4.400

try it i just played around with it an realized that the h22 trans is only a little bit better then an LS trans
