Default Exhaust Manifold Issues

I was in the process of removing my exhaust manifold so that I could replace my head gasket.

I ran into some problems. While unscrewing one of the nuts a stud came with it. The same thing happened when I was unscrewing one of the nuts that connect the header pipe to the exhaust manifold.

Should I attempt to reattach the manifold without one screw? And what to do about the header pipe?

Input please?

run the same stud back into the same hole when you're putting it back together and everything will be fine, that happens a lot with 20 year old studs that the nut has rusted/frozen onto. It's cool man.

Does it matter if the other half of the stud is still in the head?

if the stud broke off in the head, you will need to drill it and use an ez-out...that stud needs to be replaced. they are only a couple bucks from honda, i've had to replace 2 on my motor

in the meantime, missing one stud/nut will not be a big deal...i'm driving that way now

Thats good to hear.

Is it also possible to remove the exhaust manifold from the head without disconnecting it from the header pipe?
