OK, so I have a pal that works in the transport truck industry.

He happened to stumble upon a Garret/AiResearch box, he opened it, only to find a T04 sitting in it. He had no use for it, so he grabbed the turbo, and kindly donated it to myself.

Ill confess right now, Ive been a VW guy for as long as I've been into cars. But recently, I gave up on looking good and going nowhere fast.

I bought a 95 Integra, for the sole purpose of building a drag car out of it, Im working on the body as of right now, and am leaving the engine side of things until the snow starts to fly. Im just learning the basics around turbo'ing now, and I just so happen to have a turbo sitting in front of me...

But the issue is, I dont know what the [freak] its for, (assuming some type of dump truck or something) so I figured I would post up what I know about it, and maybe someone can give me some insight on this thing.

Like I said before, I dont know [freak] about hondas, Im a VW mechanic so this is going to be a learning experiance. That being said, heres what I know about the turbo...

Hot side says - AR 1.15 or 11.5 or 115 hahaha with M1 underneath it. It also says Garret.

Cold side - AiResearch T04 , M11 and a random 3 by the base of the inlet.

My plan is a built LS/Vtec... will this turbo work for my dumbass?

Garrett turbos (AiResearch) rarely have a proper designation on them, outside of the A/R numbers you listed. What you have to do is unbolt the compressor & turbine housings, measure the small & large diameters of both wheels, then get back to us. W/o that, we can't tell you much - other than it has very large housings.

If it is a t04b (very likely), chances are it won't help you much at all. Not many of those turbos were good for >600whp on the compressor side. With Hondas you want a smaller turbine mated to a larger compressor - [OEM] diesels are almost opposite. IE you could have an S-trim comp (350whp) with a Q-trim turbine (600+) - lopsided in the wrong direction...

compressor wheel small side is 2 1/8, large side is 2 3/4 and in the compressor air discharge theres a .60

turbine wheel small side is 2 1/2, larde side is 3".

1.15 exhaust AR is way too big for that turbo on a honda. Even with a K24 or an H22 you probably wouldn't start seeing boost until 7,000 RPM.

Be sure. Remove the housings and measure the wheels as suggested.

I guess the next question is, can I use any part of this turbo?

Like can I buy a turbine side to mate to this hotside?

EDIT- or vise versa

Wouldnt be worth while to mate it to suttin else?

Im all ears, just not made of money hahaha, Im not going to cheap out though, so if Im better off selling it, and buying something else, so be it.
