Problems with CKP sensor? Please help
I have a 89 Civic Si with a B16A1, I have had several problems with this swap and I have pretty much got it down to one problem. I was getting a code 3 and 21 on the ecu. I have ordered a VTEC solenoid for my code 21 but the code 3 didn't come on till me and a buddy were adjusting the idling. I had an extra hose hooked up. When I restarted the engine I checked the codes and all of a sudden I had the code came on. Is there anything I can check before I go buy a new sensor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CKP sensor is code 4.
MAP sensor is code 3.
you say you're getting code 3, is that a typo? please clarify.

Sorry, yes it is a Code 4. At one time I was getting the code 3 and 4 and I couldn't remember which one was what. But yes it is suppose to be code 4.
check the timing on the belt and on the dizzy, some ECUs are really picky about timing or they'll throw that code! try adjusting the dizzy to the center or if you have it all the way one way, try adjusting it the other way. Hondas run best most of the time with the dizzy adjusted all the way back (retarded) because the ECUs throw a lot of timing.

Really? I thought just the CYP (cylinder position sensor) was in the dizzy.
I thought the CKP (crank position sensor) was somewhere around the oilpump/cranksnout.

ok so i have moved the dizzy all around to see if i can get rid of the code, reset the ecu and still no improvement. im totally lost at what to do. any help, suggestions or remarks will be greatly appreciated.
i have reset my timing and the car is running 100 times better (it was off by one tooth). I still have the code so i guess i will have to get ahold of a new distributor. Guess my wife will enjoy hearing more money going into this project, but oh well have to get this going. thanks for all the help.
so now i have replaced the distributor, the code is still showing up and now the car won't start. I thought it was the plug wires but i just changed those and it still won't start. i got it to start with the old distributor but it's like the new distributor didn't change anything. i'm going to look at it in the daylight tomorrow but any suggestion will be appreciated, i need to get it running real soon.
