first, loosen the pulley bolt (14mm I think), then loosen the tension bolt that sits between the AC mount and the engine block (it is kinda hard to see, you will need a good sized extension) the bolt is a 10mm. Then take the two bolts out that hold the front lower engine mount. Slide the belt out.

anyone with some pics?
2. Find a/c belt.
3. Look along a/c belt for pulleys that come in contact with the belt. There should be three:
Crank pulley, pulley on a/c compressor and a belt tensioner pulley.
4. Find bolt to loosen tensioner.
5. Loosener tensioner, which takes tension off the belt.
6. Remove belt.

Jack up the car, there are (2) 14mm bolts that stabilize the engine vibration. After that has been remove, proceed to the steps stated above.
You arent off at all. The AC pulley when not engaged has little resistence or little load against the motor. I guess to somebody who is sparingly looking for ANYTHING that will decrease engine resistence would find it useful.
Like they say, everything little thing adds up.

ok, clarification, so when a/c is off, virtually no power is lost, only when the a/c is on is where the power is lost, because i had heard a couple whp just with the belt on and a/c turned off
same here.. I didn't really see the need to save the belt.. might as well just replace it when it gets put back on.. a big steak knife was all i needed!
