Default A/C Belt

Hey everyone,

I just installed the compressor on a d series. I'm assuming that the belt is supposed to go over three pulleys. My question is......how the heck do I get it over the top pulley? Even with the tension out as far as it will go I can't get it to loop around all three. Or is that upper pulley, on the front driver mounting bracket, in line with the A/c belt just for looks? :/

It should go over all three, as shown at http://media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/m.../pdf/22-27.pdf

Is it at all close? If so, take off the adjusting pulley; make sure the tension bolt is fully released; re-install with belt. Also this past summer on a timing belt job on my 93 Civic DX I remember fiddling with the a/c belt and adjusting pulley from underneath the car, front wheel off and front quarter on a jackstand. A slim headed ratchet will likely be helpful.

You have to loosen the bolt in the middle of the idler pulley, and then with a 10mm socket wrench and a long extension, lower the idler pulley using the adjusting nut on top of its assembly.
