I ended up getting a D15B7 as the swap engine. Of my choices of the D16y8 and the d15b7 with a 99 Y8 Vtec head, i went with the d15b7 becaues the y8 was in very crappy condition and was leaking oil and ****. So now i have this high compression bullshit. Which is terrible for my project since I want to go boost. I was wondering if Vitara pistons fit in that block or any other cheap pistons I can put in there to lower the compression so I can boost it. Because finding another engine is becoming a pain. I only want to hit 200WHP cuz its my daily driver. Any suggestions? Does anyone know if its possible?

 

Buy some 75.5 Vitaras & forged rods and you will be good to go.....you could run it as a standard mini-me but make sure you get a good tune.

are u sure i could boost @ all on a standard minime? the Compression ratio is like 10.3 or something according to honda compression calculator.

I suggest all forged internals, but the viatras long as they are dished ones and some forged rods would be better than none at all,, you could boost with out touching the engine at all,, but ur not going to run many lbs of boost maybe 4-6lbs looking at 160-180hp with out decreasing the life of ur motor quite a bit. Just do it right the first time,build it for boost. or your just going to be pulling it apart later doing the same thing you would be now

I got a D15B VTEC came out of 96 that a guy decided to go b-series

 

whats the CR on it?

 

beleive its like 9.4:1 correct me if im wrong

 

what is the milage on it? sounds interesting.
Do you know which model it is? because a bunch of the D15's have vtec.

 

It has like 70K its a JDM motor all it says on the block is D15B and some #'s below it

 

so its not the vtec-e one?
