state ref question

Default state ref question

okay i got an exhaust ticket CVC 27151(a) and i was told to go to the chp to get it signed off but that was when the refs were closed, now that they are back open in some areas do i go to the ref or do i go to chp? or can i do both? thanks in advance

Talk to them about it, this is sort of a special situation. Give the ref a call and ask them how you can resolve this.

i hear its 350 to just see the ref though is that true in the case that its just a simple fix it exhaust ticket?

I think you got a normal fix it ticket and was told to go chp to get it signed off. Whenever I get a exhaust ticket, I fix it and go to any police officer to get it signed off. I would rather go to CHP anyways because state ref will end up smogging your car and look for things beyond the ticket. When I used to go, the price was $40 I think.

Yep, $40 for a visit to the ref. If you don't want a close look at it, just get a bullshit stock muffler put on, and take it to a police station. If it's a noise or modified exaust ticket, they should sign it off as soon as they see the stock muffler.

throw on a stock muffler, call the ref and make an apt for the exhaust ticket, pass the db test and get a sticker for ur exhaust from the ref, put back ur exhaust and next time u get pulled over just show them the sticker and they will let u go..

well the thing is i got pulled over for having a stock exhaust he just saw my headers said they were part of the exhaust so i got my ticket, will the CHP pop my hood to check for headers? my exhaust is straight up stock from the day i bought the car
