Help with my Illumina/Prokit Suspension
I just got some illuminas and eibach prokit. There arent much instructions...
Where do all of these little parts go? Do I need to retain anything from my stock suspension? Im trying to put these together before the install tomorrow. Which springs go on the back and on the front? How do I know if there on the shock right?

the metal tube goes inside both of the black rubber pieces and i believe you should put the big washer on first before you put the rubber with metal tube over the shock piston... I'd use the dust cover from the stock shocks if they fit...
and as for which spring goes front or rear... i guess each spring has a part number just look up online or call a company and inquire with them which one's which
those pieces are going to replace the hardware for your top hats ( the things u see in you engine bay and trunk). your going to reuse your spring cover thing as well, your also gunna need a spring commpersor to take that off( u can rent them at most auto stores). the one on the left is for the front. do a search on a how to for this. oh and im not sure about these but on mine it said if i reused the dust cove it could damage the shock ( idk y). any other questions?????
if you ever bother to look at the little piece of paper that come with everything, it tells you what to do. reading is FUNDAMENTAL!!

dude check the installation papers that came with shocks/springs
i installed sportlines on illuminas, same thing. both came with fairly straight forward instructions. also you can refer to oem shock assembly, same components only use tokicos bolt torque specs. thicker springs (left on your pic) goes to the front, it also has a part number on it and it should say in one of the papers that came with springs which one is which
one more thing. front shocks do not come with bump stops and dusters. i got mine from shox.com, they sell KYB dust boot+bump stop kit which fits alluminas nicely and its not really expensive. i would advise you to invest in getting those, 1kit for each shock.

What is that tan rubber piece on the right shock? Someone told me to take it off.

Wow.
Thats the bumpstop. Leave it on there, your shocks will thank you for doing so.

do not take it off, plus you will need to purchase a set for the front shocks. since they sold separately.
like i said earlier:

apparently they do not come with a complete set of bump stops...
I guess you can still put them on... but it's a good way to bottom out on your new shocks

here you go
</TD></TR></TABLE>Ok, im really confused. Number 12 on the list here. I did NOT have any of those bumpstops on my stocks shocks. They have never been tampered with before. I checked inside the dust shield and nothing on BOTH front shocks.
Please tell me i can pick up some from a parts store like autozone...

jeez.. you probably still never refereed to installation instructions that came with illuminas. it says you need to reuse your stock bump stops, but if they are in poor condition it voids the warranty. i know it sucks spending that much money and not get complete kit, but this is the way it comes. if you do not want to look into reading the instructions you can at least take you time and read posts thoroughly.
i went through installing the same set up and im telling you exactly what you need. purchase 2 boot/bump stop kits; as far as i remember it cost me around $20 shipped from shox.com, you need to call them tho. you can also purchase bump stop at the dealer but it will cost you more and those do not come with the dust boot.
You need:
-Illuminas kit
-Springs
-2 bump stop/boot kits (for front shocks, i think mine were H&R)
-2 dust boots for rear shocks (you can probably get those at local auto store)
-8 zip ties (for tightening dust boots, not supplied with the kit, 2 for each boot)
-reuse stock top hats w/ rubber seat #5, 7 on ur image
-reuse stock metal seat #11 (im pretty sure i reused it)
from Tokico website "Requries re-installation of factory Safety Washer (DC2)"
if you get the same bump stop kit it will also have few more washers which you will not need so don't worry about those, you don't need them
also you will not need to use part #10, it should not fit. at least mine didn't. for assembly just follow up the diagram from the image u posted. use torque specs supplied with illuminas.
this project should be as easy as changing oil, only if wont have any problems with rusted old bolts when taking old suspension off. when you install everything back, make sure you tighten the bolts when your car is at the riding height.
get it done the right way. take your time, do not rush and you should be fine. gl
