99-00 front end swap on a 97 hatch
im trying to decide whether i want to go for the newer front end on my hatch... just wondering tho if i would need to change radiator supports in order to do it or does it bolt up to the 97 front end... any help would be appreciated

I would suggest changing Rad support, the mounting spots for the upper on the 96-98 are different. Just my opinion, for perfect fitment. Just did the conversion on my car.
You can do the conversion with only the hood, fenders, grill and headlights, but you would need to modify the tabs were the bumper bolts to the rad support. If you don't want to modify it, then buy a rad support for a 99-00.

its as easy as replacing those listed above but why? everyone is going with that front end. why not do jdm front end of your actual year. maybe its a personal preference but i think since there are few true jdm 97 fronts rolling it would be better

JDM and USDM '96-'98 Civics have the same optional front lip available (both the Sport and the SiR - which I'm fairly certain I've seen in the US EPC before). The same goes for '99-'00 too.
The '96-'98 Type R front lip is a standard front lip for a trim we don't get. The Type R also had a different grille, an emblem on the hood and gunmetal colored headlights (which otherwise look like the other JDM headlights).
Other things that were different are the following though:
- Headlights (clear corners, city lights, no diffuser.. I know I'm missing some)
- Sidemarkers
- Different fog lights available
- Bumper moldings ('96-'98 "base" hatches and sedans - not on coupes)

Those are base model bumpers? Passwordjdm.com is selling them as "96-98 JDM Civic SiR bumpers" haha.

the only reason i would opp to go to the newer front end is because my car already has the 99-00 taillights and i do love the newer front end

Yep. There is a huge amount of misinformation out there about different trim levels of Civics.
I think most '96-'98 Civic hatches and sedans get them over there (besides the Type R).
Then again, EK4s aren't just '96-'98 (as is often said) and they're not just called the "SiR" and they're not just JDM of course.
