Default Axle removal? with ease, please.

I love my crx to death! but she upsets me becuz i can never just pop the axle out, of the intermediate shaft. This task usually takes me 1/2 an hour. I know someone out there can help. Much Thanks!

All i can say is use a medium sized screw driver to push in the lock ring and pull it out. I changed my axles in 20 minutes start to finish the only time I have ever done it. A few minutes searching in the FAQ i know there is an article there that is on axle changes.

i always just use a prybar. place it in between where the tranny and axle meet and give it a good yank, should pop right out

he's talking about removing the axle from the intermediate shaft, not axle from the trans itself. thats generally a lot easier in most cases. i dont know personally of a quicker way to get the two apart but i do share in your frustration. i needed to bring back a core when i bought a new axle for my swap, and for the life of me i couldnt get the bastard out. i had to bring it to a friend of mine. who then heated it up with an oxy-acetylene torch and after securing it in a vice proceeded to wail on it with an arsenal of different tools including a 5 foot pry bar and a 5lb sledge. 20 mins later they were finally seperated. needless to say we destroyed the axle, but the intermediate shaft was still in good shape and thats all that mattered lol.

Why do you need to continuously pop the axle out of the intermediate shaft?
