Default 08 si valves

I just purchased a brand new SI. it has about 530miles on it and i noticed on cold starts its has a valvetrain noise knock just for a quick sec then dissapears. it sounds like right when oil pressure builds it stops, almost instant, but enough to hear. its not very loud but from a mechanics ear its enough to investigate, i was just wondering if any one else has experienced this or noticed this as well. i mat just be paronoid but its brand new. from factory it comes with 5-30? its completely full and clean still 90% on oil life. i know hondas have always had ticky valvetrain. what do you guys think? thanks for your input.

a 'knocking' noise isn't usally from the valvetrain.

what sounds like 'ticking' valves, is usually the injectors on k-series motors.

If you're worried about it. Take it to the dealership.

It's probably the injectors. They can get pretty noisy on our cars.

When I start mine on a cold day, in the garage, I can hear it throughout my whole house. Until it warms up, at which time it is quiet as a mouse.

I imagine Honda puts the same oil in the car at the factory that they recommend in the service and owner's manuals, and that would be 4.6 quarts of 5W20 for the 06-09 Si's.

thats true too... when my oil got a little low i noticed the loud valves as well. But i put 5pts in everytime now. Line is always at the top dot and never heard the loud valves ever since..... but i do hear the injectors every now and again.
