Default 00 Civic SI need more acceleration

This past July I just purchased a 2000 Civic SI. It was completly stock when I bought it and it had just over 70k miles. Over the past few month I have recently added a few mods.

So far I have done...
Apexi Worldsport Catback Exhaust
Straight Flow Test Pipe
Vibrant 4-2-1 headers
Put an AEM Short RAM intake
Excedy Stage 2 Clutch

I think I am on a good start to my project. I have put just under 10k miles on my car and find myself wanting more acceleration. I had planned on getting some aftermarket cams along with a new valvetrain and valve springs installed but have not seriously looked into that yet.

What my question comes down to is that does anyone have any suggestions on what would be a good next step in increasing my cars acceleration? I feel like its slow off the start but gets going nicely soon after.

I dont really have a pricerange. Id much rather spend more money on something with a good reputation than trying to cut corners. But if i had to put a maximum on the next few upgrades Id say no more than 2k.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know i would be very happy to read a bunch of ideas.

You want to get a Skunk 2 intake manifold and a nice 65 or 68 mm throttle bodie, then a act clutch with a lighter flywheel. Your accelaration is going to be improve big time and cost you about $900.00. Now what ECU are you using.????? Because you will have to change the ECU to P28 and get chipped and tune for your car, you will see a big difference. When i put my manifold with headers i had was to put a P28 ecu because it won't run right with the P2T stock ecu, so keep that in mind, unless you plan to do a piggyback system and that will not be the right way to go. Better with ECU/Chipped/Tune for you car.....good luck....

Im assuming my ECU is stock. When i bought it from a private seller he only mentioned how there has been nothing done to the car, and he bought it new.

Yeah, the biggest gains for the buck you'll proably see are a lightweight flywheel and some ecu tuning. You can get your own programmable tuner or you can send it to hondata and let them relfash it for you. Go for the reflash if you're gonna stop engine modifications after the flywheel but go for something programmable if you intend to keep modifying. Good luck.

I'm kind of in the same boat as this guy except I have skunk2 stage 1 cams and the skunk 2 valvetrain. Do you guys recommend getting a chipped ECU from phearable.net or something like that?

have you considered changing gear ratios?
T1R makes a final drive kit that makes it feel like you are getting kicked in the back of the head when you launch

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SVMEM1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">makes it feel like you are getting kicked in the back of the head when you launch</TD></TR></TABLE>

That would mean you're coming to a serious abrupt STOP.
Just saying
