Default vtec crossover

ya my rebuilt b16 bottom end with type-r head.. has vtec cross over at 6200, i had the ecu chipped by phearable.net about a year and i think my tach may be off.

i swapped in my buddies ecu and he told me his ecu hit at 5800. and thats what i thought my ecu should have hit at.

The reasoni ask is because when a take the car up to what my tach shows as 8,000.. its just making noise, not really going anywhere.. with the type-r head on the b16 it should go up to 8k no problem?

Any help thanks

if you go get your car tuned by someone who knows what they are doing they will find what RPM your VTECH is supposed to CRACK at y0. its not just pick what rpm sounds about right.

On a stock B18C5 with a stock ECU, yes the vtec crossover is 5800 rpm.

ok well thanks, because before the b16 i rebuilt, i had a b18c5 in it.. so now im using the rebuilt b16 block, with the type-r head and tranny.. exedy stage one clutch..

When i hit vtec it shows it as 6200, i had the type-r basemap on the ecu so i believe my tach is off and that is why at 8000 it doesnt seem to be doing anything..

Running a type-r basemap with my setup should be fine right? ive been trying to get a local guy to do it (formally with epic tunning in PA)

I think it's fine to run the it'd map till you get it tuned. If anything it would be running rich I would think
