Default Civic shifting to high and hard!!

i have a 93 auto civic ex D16z6. After fixing the overheating issue (Fan not running) now i have another problem

The car does not seem likes its shifting right. It will not shift out of gear till 3 to 4 thousand rpms and when it shift it seems like its shifting hard.

I checked the plugs and i check the transmission fluid and both were good.
I did see that the cable coming from the transmission to the throttle is coming undone but its still together and seems to pull back and forth smoothly so im not sure. Im lost.. any help would be great. Thanks

Anything i can do to help you guys help me would be great! Thanks

Would like to know this also. I had two automatic integras that did this. Changed atf and it didn't do anything.

that cabkle is the issue, its the throttle cable for the tranny, so the tranny knows the load its under, this decides when and how hard to shift, the problem isnt that you were expecting the cable to be stiff, but that tis undone, beauce of that, the finished length of the cable has changed, so therefore, the cable is always pulled more than your telling it to, get the cable changed, and make sure its adjusted correctly!

I read on another thread i can do it myself but we should take it in to get it adjusted right. It has to be perfect for the car to shift right in every gear.

yep, you need a new cable. that shield around the cable shouldn't slide back and forth like that. you can probably change it yourself. if you can then:

good luck
