When is have my car on jackstands and i spin the wheels it makes a weird sound.
I pinpointed the sound and it seems like it's coming from the transmission case where the axle goes in. The sound seems like a bearing or gears. Cound this be right?
also when i get up to highspeeds(i am pretty sure it is related) i hear this noise like thin metal rubbing together.
thx for your help in advance.

I had to replace a wheel bearing before. I don't think it is because when i get up to speed it's like a scratching sound. The sound does not get progressively louder either.
Long shot:
Have you checked the front brake pads?
I had some REALLY funky noises coming from the front of my car, turned out it was the front brake pads worn pretty thin. It didn't sound to be anything associated with brakes either, I was pretty thrown off.

When i spin the wheels i just hear the regular brake pad on rotor noise.
it happens when i am on the gas. i think it lessens when i let go of the gas. When i let go of the gas it seems to make a whining down noise. I am not very sure if the screeching goes away.
