Default Recent Leakdown Test, need opinion about bent valve.

I just did a leadown test on my friends H22. I kept getting 10% on cylinder 2 but alot of air is escaping out of the #1 spark plug holeand intake.. The owner has noticed loss in power, oil consumption, smoke when accelerating out of exhaust and rouch idle. Could the intake valve be bent on this cylinder. Why is the leakdown only showing 10%.

how are you getting air coming out of number 1 plug, do you have the oil cap off, check to see if the air is coming out of the oil cap moreso. the only way possible i can imagine for air to go in number 2 and want to come out number 1 plug, is if its going past the rings andfinding a restriciton, and coming up number 1';s rings, but i dont believe it. are you sure you are at tdc of compression? what were the compression readings?

I must have been on the wrong stroke TDC. I thought that was the one because the test where no air was coming out of the other spark plug holes, the leakage was 19%. I'll have to re-do the test and listen to where the air was escaping.

yea the 19% is what your after, and check the intake pipe, exhuast, oil cap, and coolant. if it doenst come out of there, take apart the mtoor and look for a black hole eating your leakdown air!!!

anytime, lemme know how it works, out, and by the way, it cant be bent, unless it got hit, remember that, if the valve is burned however, it will leak, and is caused by the valve staying open too long, such as a weak or borken spring, bad valve adjustment, or boost and nitrous/racing can cause a burned valve. also, if the valve is sticking in the guide.
