I'm driving home from my brother's house and my car is acting a little funny. When I would floor it, right around 5300 rpm, the car would actually lose acceleration and start to hesitate slightly back and forth, but vtec would still engage. About 30 minutes into the drive, the R loses vtec altogether....
Any suggestions on troubleshooting this? Lack of fuel?
I'm so sad....

First thing is to check the last thing you did. Check your oil, either its to full or its all gone. If thats not the problems check your o2 sensors. My brothers Type R did the same thing, no check engine lights or anything on the way back from cali. We got back and checked it out and it was the o2 sensor. It got lose and made the engine go into safe mode. We fixed it and its been working fine
Good luck with the R.

1. Get really drunk
2. Trade me the ITR w/o working VTEC for my CRX w/ working VTEC...
3. Have me check your oil...
BTW, Marc...Whose black CRX was that in your driveway? I saw pics in another thread, but didn't know whose it was. And do you know anyone over your way looking to sell their hybrid EF?

want to know what that is, ill tell you exactally what it is. your vtec solenoid has gone out. same thing happened in my GS-R just like yoi explained it. hits right around where vtec should engage and bounces back and forth like a rev limiter only slower. check that and you should be all right.
I have no check engine light either and just filled up the oil last week.....
hehe...
VTEC stop working? maybe its the big blue bottle you are holding in the avatar thats causing the problem
