Default about to install hondata s300 in to p28.....

I have an automatic transmission p28 and i am looking to set it up for my s300. I ordered the s300 chipping kit from xenocron.com.

heres the link to the kit: http://www.xenocron.com/catalo....html

i am looking at hondata's site for directions on how to chip for s300.....

i understand where the chip goes at IC4

i think i am supposed to cut a section off one of the resistors to use as a jumper at J1(soldered on the bottom?)

at R54 i am supposed to solder in a resistor but the kit came with two resistors and i am not sure what the difference is, if any, between the two - they look slighty different

I understand the part about IC3 and CN2 and cutting J12.

After doing these steps i am still left with 4 unused parts from the kit. one is the spare resistor, two are small orange 2 pin... capacitors? and one is a 2 pin chubby thing that i think is also a capacitor? kinda looks like a tiny double A battery.

what are these extra parts about? are there steps i need to do that are not listed on hondata's site? is there a better set of directions out there? also, since this is an automatic ecu, what do i need to do to change it to a manual?

thanks very much in advance

Post pictures of what you have.

It sounds like you might have gotten the spare main capacitor that goes near the center plug on the ecu.

Also post what color the bands on the resistors you have.. or look up the band colors online and use the one that is the 1K resistor.

I think it should be BROWN - BLACK - RED - GOLD

And then just remove RP 17 and RP18 and jump RP18 with a leg of one of the resistors that you cut off. OR just desolder J12 and put J12.. which is a jumper into RP18.

ok think i answered the auto to manual part of my question... I need to remove the resistors at rp18 and rp17 and then jump rp18 with a piece of resistor "wire"

The big round looking thing is a good thing to replace.. But if you don't have the best soldering skills that is better left to the pros. It takes a good bit of heat to remove.

And that is located at C14

They're for noise reduction. It's fine to install them, but they're not needed.
