Default Yay! Tranny Problems :)

Clutch and FW - Competition
Slave cylinder - Autozone style
Fluid - OEM

Well I recently had to replace my clutch and flywheel after driving around town and almost getting stuck. I had to force my car into first and second and limp home the car would shift fine when the motor was off but once on it was almost impossible to get into gear.

So now that the clutch, fw, and slave cylinder have been replaced, I have put everything back together. The only issue is that the shifter looks like it is installed backwards ( all top gears make the shifter almost touch my radio ) and it is almost impossible to get into first, and find the rest of the gears.

I have checked to make sure that the shifter is not backwards, and tried OEM linkage, avid linkage and OEM linkage again.. all with the same results. Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing my shifter to sit so far forward? I was thinking that I may have bent something internally in the transmission such as one of the shift forks, or more likely, where the shift linkage attaches to the transmission (where the bitch pin goes).

Does anyone have any experience with similar issues? I just want my car back on the road to hug them turns, Haven't driven the R in over a year

Did you adjust your clutch pedal after all the changes? I don't think that would cause the funky shifter but that would give you problems getting it in gear. I'd start by adjusting the pedal out to see if that makes shifting easier.

did you install the stabilizer rod on as well? if not, you will have way too much throw on the shifter.
