D15b/p08, installed new 4-2-1 header= intermitant ECL code 1, tried 2 O2 sensors, no fix

I have a d15b with a p08, 5speed. Engine ran peeky boo until....
I installed a new 4-2-1 AirMass 2 piece ceramic coated header, Magnalfow 2.25 hi flow cat, ceramic coated 2 piece mid section and muffler.
Now.
My original 1 wire O2 sensor tripped my ECL about 5-8 times a day, on a 200+ miles city driving day. I'm a courier and drive 200+ miles daily. Low speed driving, high speed driving, flooring it, nursing it, makes no difference.
Figure I'd run the old O2 sensor for a bit, in case **** flakes off the new header. One week later, I replaced it with a new NTK 4 wire O2. Chopped the 3 unused wires, only using the one signal wire.
Still trips the ECL light. Few times a day, irrelevant of driving style. ECL Code 1.
Engine runs great. Idles fine. Great gas mileage. No spudering or backfires. No exhaust leaks, all new gaskets.
I've confirmed with NGK that I can use the 4 wire O2 like I'm using it. According to Brandon.
I've called Holley/Flowtech/AirMass exhaust company. According to Woody, I'm the first one with O2 issues with this exhaust.
And it's safe to say that my engine is in good working order, as I earn a living with it.
Anybody bot any ideas or suggestions? It's a little annoying having to flip the ignition to reset the ECL...

The d15b7 died a while ago. Its a little cube now. It served me well. One too many head gaskets

If I had to stick a guess to it: is there any way you tugged the O2 sensor connector on the engine harness side a little too hard. Enough to keep decent contact most of the time, but something that might cause an intermittent signal when the engine vibrates?

For the sake of clarification: The D15B7 uses a P06 ECU and requires a 4 wire O2 sensor (if used properly). The JDM D15B uses a P08 ECU and requires a 1 wire O2 sensor (again, if used properly).

Might want to check the connections on your O2 sensor. If the car had been functioning properly before the header, that's the only thing that could be what's going on.
A header won't cause problems with your O2 sensor in that way just by its performance alone. And before anyone says anything about that, I have the JDM D15B VTEC with P08 and Airmass 4-2-1 header. No CELs.
Oh, for future reference, a good way to stick with simpler things, you can run a 4 wire O2 with all the wires connected. No problems for me.

My connection is good. I cleaned the factory plug with LPS when I installed the new O2. No loose wires, all tied down somewhere.

Wow. Well I have no idea. It's not yet certain that the header is responsible for the issue. Have you replaced the stock header again to see if it goes away?
Yuk. I hate working on a car in the driveway. Did too much work on cars that way. I've driven like 1,700,000km over 18 years, and I've done my share. I've owned 12 cars, 6 being Hondas.
I usually take my car to my mechanic for **** like this. Simple stuff, I'll do in the driveway... but I'm 34 and I've killed my back too many times. Besides, I need the receipts for write-offs for taxes!
I guess I'll just live with it for crying out loud. Ill just flip the key on/off here and there...

From what I can see its either the O2 sensor (I know its brand new, but that still doesn't mean anything) or the wiring.
Honestly I'd help you if I had the same problem, as our setup seems to be the same, but I've never had that problem with the O2 sensor. Final thing to do before just taking it to someone and spending some money I'd say, would be to just replace and rewire the O2 sensor with a new one and see how that goes(all wires hooked up just to see). Other than that, there's only so much I can do from reading about your sensor problem on the internet.
