-Power windows
-VTEC engine with 25 more hp
-maybe power steering
-A/C
-power locks
-sunroof?
-paintmatched side mirrors
-foot rest
-gauge cluster with a tachometer
-interior clock?
-

etc.

I'm not a trim buff, but I know that the 95 ex and dx are pretty different. Everything up there is some (probably not all) of the basic stuff that an EX has, that a DX doesn't, or has to have as an option, such as the a/c or power steering.

DX has a black rear license plate bezel too. Basically, DX has more black accents, EX has more white. Some EX have ABS too. EX is 1.6l SOHC Vtec and DX is 1.5l SOHC non vtec.

Ex is also the heaviest trim...not by much though.

Oh yeah. Just reminded me. DX have rear drum brakes, while the EX's have discs I believe.

no ex's have rear drums too. cause im looking at a 95 dx freshly painted, new clutch, new hood, fenders, 92k or 95 ex ok paint, needs a clutch, needs a valve cover gasket, and 166k on it. dx is 3600, ex is 2900.

i would go with the dx, i dun really care about the power window etc option or the sunroof. You can let the dx engine run for awhile, and if you ever hungry for power, do a swap and boost it. for the ex, you will have to pay around 600ish to replace the clutch itself, and it have alot of miles already. also ex is a sohc vtec, if i remember right, when i try both car out (dx and ex), they arent too much of a difference, ex seem faster tho, but like i say, swap the engine out if you more power later on.

Take the ex has more options…the tranny is shoter geared and the power is better more hp and tq…if you going to keep it stock it better to just have all that stuff in there all ready…plus its has vtec so if you swap for a b18c or what ever its wired for vtec

In the defense of DX's, all I did was get a DX hatch w/no power steering, no a/c, no power anything, and swapped the engine to D15B VTEC. There. Now you have a light car with no little extras to go wrong, with shorter gearing, 130hp VTEC, and an LSD tranny (Only in certain transmissions). Cost me nearly nothing to do it, and only a few hours of trouble to put it in.

^^ get the ex. it might be heavier but if you do want to do a swap, it well be a drop in cause it is already wired for vtec. so it'll be a simple plug and play.

note; only a few ex's came with rear disc brakes. they are actually canadian si models re badged as and ex. that's why they have rear disc brakes.

It was really no trouble at all to wire the vtec solenoid to the ecu, it's just one wire.

yeah, i know the orange with white stripe. but it would still look cleaner if it were a plug and play.

It's all up to whoever wants to have the convenience of power options and an older, but more powerful VTEC engine, versus someone who wants something simple and pleasant that can benefit from a new engine.

EXs with ABS have rear disc brakes - I'm not sure if they were all made in Canada though.

'94 and '95 EX coupes that came with ABS also got rear discs, 93s recieved rear drums only. There were no coupes in '92 just in case anyone was wondering. I believe all '93 - '95 coupes were built in canada. Canadian Si coupe is the same as a US EX coupe, however at least some of our canadian Si coupes did not have power features other than power mirrors, i'm not sure if all US EXs had full power options.

Very true. My '95 EX [canadian made] Came with power everything and ABS; it came with rear discs. I paid 2800 for mine [211k miles]. The little used dealer wanted 4 grand for it but I tire kick really well =P. It had a bunch of small fixes it needed but everything works flawless on it now. The previous owners of it took very good care of it and garaged it etc.

As for going with a DX or an EX, it all depends on how you want to roll with your car. Do you like having the options of a moonroof, power windows, and door locks? The weight difference from DX to EX isn't THAT much. Maybe like 100lbs [pretty much canceled because you have 25 more HP then the DX]. I went with an EX because I hate having manual everything. Not to mention the moonroof is a really awesome feature.

My stock EX is quick; its no k20 v8 demolisher or anything, but it goes when I want it to. I'm planning on deleting the power steering with the stealthmode kit, it will free up some of that parasitic drag. Not to mention deleted power steering has the quicker turn ratio

My opinion would be to grab the EX just because having features are nice. Just grab a new exedy or ACT clutch, slap a new gasket on, and wax it up. It will look smexy after a lil love. They usually do.
