Default ECU's

Hey,
Does anyone know where I can get a good computer. I've looked on ebay, and i'm very hesitant on buying one. I guess I need a chipped P28 for a mini-me swap. I'm very new to these cars, so i'm trying to learn as much as possible. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Right now, my car doesn't start. The only thing it could be is a bad ECU.....

are you sure its your ecu?

when you turn the car on, does the check engine light come on for a couple seconds then turn off. or does it come on and stay on, or does it not come on at all?

yes, the light comes on and shuts off after a couple seconds, and it still throws codes. My car was a nightmare. I bought it and it didn't work. It ran every once in a while. after throwing a new distributor, cap, rotor, fuel pump, and spark plugs, it still gave me problems. all the sudden it ran. and ran good. i drove it for about a week or two, every day. I went to my buddies house. we timed it, i took her for a spin, and she ran really good, i got back, we bs'ed and fixed his hatch. Then i go to go home, noting. it was dead. Thats where i'm at now. lol. So what do you think **MonkeyMagic??? (the car does turn over, and i have spark, and i can hear the fuel pump prime.....

What ecu are you running right now? What year and model is your car? What year is the engine and head? A code 12 is for an egr valve. An egr valve is used on a hx and vx engine.

What engine is it?

You bought an engine off CL and swapped it into your car? Get an ecu that is supposed to be used for that engine or get the p28 tuned to run your new engine.

https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/124 contact some one in that forum and have them set up a basemapped ecu for your set up

okay, so last night i get my car running. I go about two miles from my house. The car got hot!! it was about 55 degrees out too. I was clueless. As i was going home, my car dies. Got towed home, and this morning i fired her up. She ran fine!! I just go to get in to pick up my woman, and now it won't start again. Mind you i got a new fuel pump, plugs, distributor, cap, and rotor.... I am clueless...

My guess.... replace/repair the main relay

but first PLEASE get the right ECU for the engine. An integra engine will require more fuel than the P28 is going to give it. (lean = dead)
