hey all, i put dot 5 silicon based in my car, i was told it will destroy my brake system.. any input? or truth to this?

A lot of ABS systems will not work properly with synthetic brake fluid. Do you have ABS? What year Civic are you driving?

Get it out hopefully nothing has happened. Honestly I think it should be ok as long it you flush and bleed it well.

 

drain and flush your system and use dot 3 fluid. dot 5 are use on high performace car with high boiling temp. why use dot 5 in the first place?

 

i do not know, i can say i now learned my lesson!

put some new(99 integra brakes) on, and a type r MC,and ss lines...stops on a dime!!!!
