faded carbon fiber hood questions please...
well ive seen a couple threads on this but my hood has been fading a slight bit on the clear and i was gonna have it recleared for cheap but im thinking of just wet sanding it down and polishing??? u think wet sanding it slightly and polishing it will work... has anyone done it... the hood isnt bad but there r about 3 or 4 small circles of fading going on.. thanks
If you want to fix it, re-clear it. If not there are a few other temporary options.
IMO your just waisting time wet sanding and buffing. It will come back. If your going to spend time sanding, might as well just prep it to be re-cleared.

PPG is a brand. I also recleared my hood the other week and put 4 coats of PPG DCU2002 clear on it. I posted it in 2 other threads about reclearing CF hoods. Search and you will find.
you can sand and buff it but it will just fade again. Most hood companies use pretty cheap clear to help the hoods be affordable. I would reclear any chinese made hood the day I got it cause it will fade and yellow
