I had my VIS for 2 years and it started to fade too. It started in the corder and manifest itelf all over the damn hood. I suppose you can sand it down and apply a couple of layer of clear coats on it, but that can cost more then the hood itself.
Does anyone know now much it cost to clear coat the hood?

almost every CF hood is going to do this....either that, or it's going to start turning colors.
it ends up looking a really poopy, slightly yellow/green tinted brown after a few years.

wet sand..buff..clear coat and it should be as good as new if not better...or you can just paint match it.

you can use real fine wet sand paper and do that. and add some new resin if needed..
you know how old surfboards turn yellow.. same reason why carbon hoods turn shitty yellow

Some Carbon Fiber companies out there use a UV coat in there process to ensure this doesn't happen. I've found only one that does this 3 years and nothing yet. Curiuos to see if this happens to mine.

Thats what I'd do.
As for what hood I have a hammerhead one and no issues double coat of UV on it. It was just a added bonus when I bought it but now see why they had the for sight to do it. I am not sure they are still producing them regularly though and there models are limited.
