Default Ebay turbo needs rebuild???

i received my turbo (kkk k26) that i bought from ebay today. The guy told me it had recently been rebuilt, but it seems to have some oil on the exhaust blades and in the exhaust housing. Did this guy dick me or is it just a coincidence that oil is on there. how much do you think it would be to rebuild if we had to, we only paid 127 for the turbo itself.

i would ask to see the paperwork for the rebuild... has it been used since it was rebuilt? did you notice this after you installed it or once you received it? Here are some possible symptoms...
1) Too much pre-oiling, give it time it will burn away
2) Oil Drain lines were restricted- clean out clogged lines
3) coked up center housing- service engine lube system, replace turbo or rebuild
4) Turbocharger bearings, bearing bores or shaft journals worn - replace or rebuild
5) Something internally wrong with your/his engine
6) Clogged engine crankcase
7) overfull crankcase - adjust oil level

Thanks for the reply. It hasn't been on the car yet, we just got it from ups today. there was no oil on the compressor side, so i guess we'll put it on and see how it runs.
