Default Question on aftermarket steering wheel

I am a proud owner of a 89 CRX for several years but due to alarming number of thefts in my area i have decided to purchase an aftermarket steering wheel, the ones where you can easily release n take off.

I'm not into steering wheels and have no idea whats a good n wat to stay away from. Wanted to know what aftermarket steering wheel other crx owners use in there car and if they recommend a certain one and possible a link to purchase them or a picture on how it looks like in there car

MY budget is around 150 dollars max and i live in northern california.

NRG is pretty much everybody's first choice for the quick release, but as for steering wheels... It's pretty much up to you. There is Momo, Nardi, Personal, Grant, NRG makes them aswell. Momo requires a momo hub.

You can find some deals on steering wheels here but as far as your budget goes half of your budget will end up on the quick releases leaving you down to pretty much a beat up/used steering wheel. I found a pretty nice Grant steering wheel at the junkyard for 8 Dollars, so while you wait for your quick release you can look around for a wheel.

i'm a fan of momo and sparco, but i've seen people the Grant's that are nice and cheap..

but depending on the thefts in your area a removeable steering wheel won't help much. where i used to live, they just use tow trucks instead. makes the job quicker and easier.. good luck.

thats what they do here now too..roll your car down the street and flat bed, good bye car.

i have a grant GT from kragens. i had it for 6 years and its still great (besides a bit wear and tear) the grants are 5 hole pattern and i also got the website for the NRG made for it with 5 hole. thats what i got. grant gt, nrg qr, and hub. only thing sucks is the hub. your able to stick like a bar through it and drive like a motorcycle. but its cheap and does slow down the thieves.

Yeah, grants are real nice and are cheap. This is the one i got for 8 bucks.

Was on a 87 CRX, the hub fit my 89 Hatch though... The wheel feels really nice and is pretty much in new condition... It has a grant horn button now too.

You can buy a Quick Release, and a Grant wheel and stay in budget... but you still need the hub and make sure the wheel is 6 Bolt, so you don't have to buy another one if you switch wheels... Unless it's a universal design which i don't know if NRG has.

I have a MOMO wheel and absolutely love it. I don't have a quick-release because unless you buy one with a block plate, thieves can just bring there own wheel and snap it right in. I've heard great things about NRG, though.

Good luck!

actually at this point i dont know..cause that last time i saw a grant steering wheel at kragens it was like $80..then the QR for it is like $120 and i dont remember how much the hub is for the grant..

for 5 hole patterns
http://www.intakeone.com/Inter....html

heres mines.

thing that sucks is the hub. its gaped and it easy to put some type of bar through it to drive away. i will be getting my hub gap welded so nothing is able to be put through it.

I never thought of that; might have to deal with that on my own hub too. But someone can still put a vise grip on the QR and steer with that which is something to think about if you're looking at QR's for theft deterrent.
