Hey guys I just need a little bit of help. I been out the game for a little while after I sold my Type R and I just picked up a 97 Civic Hatch and it dosent have power steering. If I am correct I can just buy a Steering rack and replace mine with a power steering one and just install the pump, bracket, and lines and everything should be ok....correct? Any feedback would be nice...thanks

Yeah thats pretty much it..
Theres a power steering pressure sensor on one line, and you'll have to wire that to the ECU..

As long as you don't drive around and regularly hold the steering wheel at full lock, you don't really NEED the sensor. It basically idles the engine up when there is higher pressure in the system.
Yes, to be completely correct you could add the sensor and wiring into the picture. To just get up and going, rack, hoses, PS pump and brackets.

9 outta 10 times if you go to a junkyard for the ps lines, pump, brackets, etc.. you'll get the sensor.. and yes, its not required. its only for the higher pressures when you lock the wheel in a direction..
Pick n Pull you can probably get it all for under 100. Regular salvage yard probably 150-350 depending on where you are. You may want to look on Ebay to see if you can find anything there.

Heads up, I am not sure if this is true or not, but if the power rack you get doesn't have the manual knuckle that attaches to the steering column, it may not fit. I am unsure if this is just a rumour, but the individual I purchased a manual rack from (I'm doing the opposite of you. :-) Need a power knuckle if true?) included one at a little extra cost.
If they are the same, eh. I have a new knuckle for sale. If different, good. Crisis averted.
